HCT at UAE Naval College -
Internal Memorandum 6/12
1 May 2012
Professional Development Day - 3 May 2012
Background
HCTIM 3/12 gave notice of a Professional Development Day at the ADMC
on 3 May 2012. Staff are thanked for
their input to the programme. The
geography of the Naval College and our busy programme usually precludes

HCT Management at UAE Naval College
The purpose of this email is to clarify the revised management responsibilities at the Naval College. The attached wiring diagram illustrates the detail.
- · As you are all aware, my responsibilities as Associate Dean are split across ADMC/CERT and the Naval College. I would expect to be on site typically 3 times per week.
- · Our recently appointed (permanent) Program Chair, Graham Ramsay, is based full-time here at the Naval College, and is the manager of our operations and responsible for all aspects of the Naval Sciences program. Consequently, all HCT staff are functionally accountable to Graham. He is our sole point of contact with the Navy for all official business which requires a management input. If you are approached by a naval staff member on an issue which you feel requires such input then please politely refer him to Graham.
- · Amy Subaey is the MLP site supervisor for English and line manager of English faculty.
- · Vance Stevens is the on-site English team coordinator.
- · Kamran Hashmi is our QA coordinator, responsible for SAT and HCT QA process implementation at both the Naval College and the Naval Tactical School. He will also take an active role in scheduling, in order to increase the efficiency of our delivery and smooth out any programming issues.
HCT management meetings are now being held at the Naval College every Monday from 0900-1030. The management group includes the following personnel:
- Associate Dean: Dr Duncan Priestley
- Program Chair: Cdr Graham Ramsay
- QA coordinator: Kamran Hashmi
- MLP supervisor: Amy Subaey
- Library/ILC supervisor: Danville Fourie
- Academic Services administrator: Gaby Bakr
- IT administrator: Mohammed Rashid
Following each meeting we will issue a bulletin highlighting the key actions emanating from the meeting. Please approach the relevant group member if you wish to raise an issue at the meeting. We do not wish the meetings to be exclusive; indeed staff will be invited to attend the meeting to present and discuss, for example, the conclusions resulting from working group activities.
